Going into training, I wasn’t sure what to expect. This is my first summer working with Rising Sun and I was starting as a LIFT (Leader in Field Training) for the Novato site. I had never been an Energy Specialist before like most LIFT, but I had just finished two weeks of training and felt confident in my abilities to perform a Green House Call.

Claire Parkinson Leader In Field training (LIFT)
On the first day, I was excited to meet all eight of my Energy Specialists as well as the eight Energy Specialists from the San Rafael site who we share an office with. After a few days of training, everyone working at both the San Rafael and Novato sites had become a pretty close-knit group. I was very impressed with the knowledge that a lot of the returning Energy Specialists had coming into training and the speed with which the new Energy Specialists were able to acquire the skills needed for Green House Calls.
Throughout the long days during training week, it was easy to become distracted and tired, but we were able to survive the many informational PowerPoints by having frequent, thorough breaks and active games. Many wall sit competitions and intense games of Ninja were played.
Overall, the training week exceeded my expectations and I feel extremely lucky to be working with a team that knows how to both work hard and have a ton of fun doing it. Thank you Rising Sun for giving me the most rewarding and enjoyable job I’ve ever had.
