Coming into the Tracy site on the first day of youth training, I expected the youth Energy Specialist to be quiet and unenthusiastic since most of us were strangers at this point. Even though icebreakers warmed the Energy Specialist up a little bit to each other, we all still went on our phones as soon as break started and the room was silent.

However, as training progressed and we split up into smaller groups for the Green House Calls, we learned more about everyone’s personalities and interest. Continuing to play icebreakers and games during downtime was also a fun way for us to warm up to each other. I can already tell that the Energy Specialist are getting more comfortable because of the constant laughing and story-sharing that happens during breaks.
