So if you're looking for a career, green is a great place to start. And if you live in the East Bay, Rising Sun Energy Center is the place to call.
Rising Sun runs FREE workforce development programs to develop energy and water conservation skills. You don't need prior work experience to join our programs, and English need not be your first language. What we look for are enthusiasm, reliability and willingness to learn. Our trainings are recognized by industry leaders and government bodies in the Bay area.
Not sure where you're headed? If you're between the ages of 18 and 24 and are interested in the green economy, but need a boost towards a productive life and career, the East Bay Green Job Corps Bridge Program is for you. It will serve as a 'bridge' to get you into more schooling, a more advanced training program, or an entry-level job. It's open to you even if you haven't done well in school, have been in tough situations, or don't yet have a diploma or GED.
It's a free 240-hour program, and you'll actually be paid for 100 of those hours, as you practice job skills by providing energy efficiency services to your community! Plus, you'll get three units of college credit, learn professional skills, and build your understanding of the new green economy. Find out more about EBGJC.
